When bats are captured, where should they be released?

Releasing bats on a small perch or ledge is the most appropriate choice because it allows them to regain their bearings and prepare for flight in a safe manner. Bats navigate and take off from elevated areas, so providing a perch allows them to easily launch into the air while minimizing their stress and the risk of ground predators.

This release strategy ensures that they can quickly adapt back to their natural environment and resume their usual behaviors. Additionally, a perch helps prevent direct contact with humans, reducing the possibility of fear-induced reactions, which might occur if they were released too close to human activity.
